Red dots with Shield RMSc footprint

(12 products)

The RMSc or Shield RMSc footprint is probably the second most popular footprint, just after the Trijicon RMR footprint. And in this category you will find all the red dots that use this footprint. In other words, all the red dots in this category will work on any mounting device with Shield RMSc footprint..

Why is footprint important?

Because footprint determines the compatibility of the red dot.

If you want to install a red dot to your pistol - wheter it is optics ready pistol or classic pistol - you need to know what footprint does the red dot have. Based on the footprint you will be able to find matching adapter plate [for Optics Ready models] or adapter mount [for classic models].

Which brands use the Shield RMSc footprint?

Its called Shield RMSc footprint because it was first time used on the Shield red dots. It was originally not the Shield RMSc model, but Shield SMS red dot model, but that is just a side note.

These days this is one of the most popular red dot mounting footprints foremostly for compact and subcompact models. It uses 4 sockets, and therefore the red dot is secured on 4 different spots.  You will find many manufacturers using the Shield RMSc footprint: except of Shield its also Sightmark, Vector Optics, Vortex and others.

The footprint as such is not connected with specific brand. Usually you will find manufacturers using different footprints for different red dot models of their production line. Why is that? Because specific footprints are preferable for specific shooting requirements and gun size.

Can you mount red dot with Shield RMSc footprint to your gun?

That depends whether or not there is existing optics ready plate or red dot mount for that very gun, and for the specific footprint.

Just remember that
