Standard rifle scopes

(38 products)

This collection contains full-size rifle scopes. They are longer than compact scopes and often have a larger objective lens and more magnification. The scopes come from Vector Optics, Sightmark and Firefield.

What you find here

  • Low power variable optics: 1-4x, 1-5x, 1-6x and 1-8x scopes, for example the Vector Optics Forester, Grizzly, Tauron and Continental x6, the Sightmark Presidio 1-6x24 and the Firefield RapidStrike. They start at 1x for fast shots at short distance.
  • Hunting scopes: 3-9x40, 2-10x40, 1.5-9x42 and 2-12x50, for example the Forester, Continental and Firefield Agility II.
  • Long-range scopes: 3-18x, 4-16x, 6-24x and 5-30x, for example the Vector Optics Orion MAX and Orion Pro MAX, Sentinel, Tauron, Grizzly 3-18x56i and Veyron 6-24x44, and the Sightmark Presidio 3-18x50 and 5-30x56.

Objective lens and light

A larger objective lens, such as 50 or 56 mm, lets in more light and gives a brighter image at dusk. It also makes the scope heavier and may need higher rings.

FFP or SFP

FFP (first focal plane) means the reticle grows with the magnification, so its marks are correct at every setting. This matters for holdover at long distance. SFP (second focal plane) keeps the reticle the same size, and its marks are exact at one magnification only.

For shorter and lighter scopes, see Compact rifle scopes. Scopes sorted by distance are in Rifle scopes for short-range shooting, Rifle scopes for mid-range shooting and Rifle scopes for long-range shooting.

Frequently asked questions

Compact or standard scope?

Choose a compact scope for a light or short rifle. Choose a standard scope if you want a larger objective lens for poor light or more magnification for long distance.

Which rings do I need?

Rings with the same diameter as the main tube of your scope, mostly 30 mm. See Scope rings by diameter.

Can I mount the scope myself?

Yes. Fix the rings, put the scope in, set the eye relief, level the reticle and tighten the ring screws evenly to the torque given by the maker.
