Which sights to choose
-
You want to zero for your ammunition or shoot competition: adjustable sights. You set windage and elevation with screws.
-
You want to keep your front sight: an adjustable rear sight alone.
The sights in detail
-
Adjustable sights from LPA, in blank, fiber optic, white dots and white lines. You set windage and elevation with screws, so you can zero them for your ammunition.
-
Adjustable rear sights from LPA, in blank, white dots and white lines. You keep your front sight and set windage and elevation on the rear sight with screws.
How to zero adjustable sights
Shoot a group at a fixed distance. Move the rear sight in the direction you want the point of impact to move: to the right to move hits to the right, up to move hits up. Turn the screw a few clicks at a time and shoot again.
Fit
- They also fit Colt Series 80 models.
- They also fit Colt Series 90 models.
Sight picture
Fiber optic collects daylight and shines brightly at the range and in competition. Blank sights have a plain grooved surface without any marks. White lines and white dots give contrast without glowing.
Installation
Most pistol sights sit in a dovetail. You drift the old sight out and the new one in with a sight pusher or a punch. See Installation tools.
For all sights of this brand, see Sights for Colt models.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change the sights on my Colt Series 80 at home?
Yes, with a sight pusher or a punch. Drift the old sight out of the dovetail and push the new one in. If you do not have the tool, a gunsmith can do it for you.
Which sights should I choose for my Colt Series 80?
It depends on how you shoot:
-
You want to zero for your ammunition or shoot competition: adjustable sights. You set windage and elevation with screws.
-
You want to keep your front sight: an adjustable rear sight alone.
Do I get both the front and the rear sight?
Yes, unless the title says "front sight" or "rear sight". Then you get only that part.
